Home Tour: Kitchen

Lindsey at The Bargain Blonde featured kitchens last week in her home tour.
Better late than never, right?
This is the kitchen view from our living room that you read about here. I LIVE for the island and would never buy a house without one. Dan and I often have our weekend breakfasts here. I also love to bake and this is the perfect workspace.

This is the eat in kitchen. I love the table even though it is second hand, it came from a great family! Just ask Mandy at Tickled Pink :) We can seat 6 here, 8 at the dining room table and 3 at the island; a grand total of 17. This comes in handy considering a dinner with the in laws could be anywhere from 12 to 20!
I promise I put out place mats and cloth napkins for guests! You can usually find us eating dinner at the coffee table or island...guilty.
The baker's table came from my mother in law, it houses my cookbooks, recipe boxes etc., and the drawer keeps all of my themed paper napkins. Underneath are our trash and recycle bins.

We get tons of light which is great except during the afternoon in the summer (like now) when it is 113 degrees and the house heats up, whew!

I would give ANYTHING for a gas stove because I loathe the glass cook top. You can't simmer anything, it's a pain to clean and stays hot forever! I do however feel slightly better about life thanks to my Mackenzie Childs tea kettle and kitchen accessories.

Look familiar? You might have seen them here...
Caroline Manzo's kitchen (from Real Housewives of New Jersey) Or maybe in Kris Jenner's (Kardashian according to her lately) kitchen as well. We have good taste, what can I say ;)

Seriously though, I love Mackenzie Child's; based in upstate NY down the road from my family and while their items are pricey, they are great collectibles and I can't get enough! I strongly recommend you at least request their catalogue, it's so fun to look through and wish you could have one of everything! I'm going to visit soon so I'll be accepting orders :)

Thanks for checking out my kitchen, stop by for a cup of tea anytime!

Home Tour: Second Bedroom + Office

I linked up last week to show our living rooms, this week we will see the guest bedroom and our office/my sewing room!
This is what you would see walking into the guest room.

The bed, bedding is from JC Penny.
The small bookshelf and tower fan, we have yet to put a ceiling fan in this room.
This room is the only non walk in closet in all of our 4 bedrooms, we are LUCKY! This room will be the nursery sooner or later (hopefully sooner)! So we haven't done much in the decor department. The guest room will then be moved to the 4th bedroom at the front of the house where my younger brother is currently renting a room from us. I won't show you that one, picture a 25 year old boy's room...you got it!
This is our office/sewing room/catch all since my brother is taking up onebedroomawalkinclosetandpartofthegarage. Look closely, a little closer...yep that is my blog on the screen!
My AH MAZ ING sewing table. It is green shabby chic, love, and it came from my bro and sis in law. It is the best sewing/craft table in the world despite the fact that it takes up half of the room and had to be brought in through the window.

Underneath it is various stuff that will be stored in that 4th bedroom I mentioned (ahem). The bassinet also came from aforementioned siblings in law. I have it for when my niece and nephews come to visit or when I babysit...can't wait for Gia's first visit!

The blank wall behind the table used to bother me only a little, now it bother's me a lot! I need to decorate...lack of decor also due to us just deciding that the guest room would become the nursery instead of this room. I'm putting up random decor little by little.

It really is random, but hey! That's what the office is for right? Like a bookshelf of random yearbooks, photo albums and flight logs?
And a huge print of Telluride that has yet to be hung (picture it about 5 feet higher, also on the wish list to be hung)? And a random golf club in a basket?
With somewhat of a femenine touch...
And that walk in closet...Lindsey please don't do a series on closets...I simply could not participate!

There you have it folks, 2 of my 4 bedrooms. Both of which are available for visitors, come on by! Thanks for the virtual visit to Casa Sarti

Home Sweet Home

Mandy linked up for a "Home Tour" and I thought I'd jump on board. I love looking into other people's homes so why not let them peek into mine!?

Lindsey at The Bargain Blonde is hosting the home tour and it's week 3; living rooms.

We have 2 living rooms; the "formal" living room at the front of the house and our "living room" living room that's attached to the kitchen and houses the TV. This is the one where we spend all of our time so we'll start there...
This is the view from our bedroom doorway.

It's a litte small but we love it and it's so great that it is practically part of the kitchen. I can watch TV while I cook or Dan can "keep me company".

The formal living room has more comfortable couches and is roomier but it is at the front of the house, so not as convenient.
View from the entry way.
I'm standing in the dining area taking this pic. I made the pillows on the couch and my next project is to make some curtains for the windows.
Dining area with Hannah dog in the corner.
This is the entry way and bookcase with a lot of my glassware, family photos, keepsakes etc.
Our wedding wall, these are the picture frames I made for our table numbers. I hung this before I got all of the prints and didn't have enough photos to fill the frames. The numbers are the leftover table numbers but they have no significance. I need to change them so they read our wedding date 9.5.09 but they are a conversation piece for now!

After looking at all of the other entries I'm so inspired to add and change some things. I'm loving the floating shelves, candlesticks, mini lamps etc. I guess I need to hit up the thrift stores...I'm a little nervous but I keep seeing gals post amazing finds and who doesn't love a great deal? I've got lots of summer projects on my mind after reading these posts!

Thanks for touring my living rooms!
