Ty and Tori Get Hitched

A couple of weeks ago we traveled up to Flagstaff to celebrate the marriage of our friends Ty and Tori. You may have read about it here. Well, I"m a little late posting about the wonderful weekend but maybe it's like the thank you cards after the wedding, there is a grace period...right?

I took Friday off of work so we could road trip up to Flag with our friends Joe and Natalie who came in from Charlotte. We made it to the hotel just in time to change for the rehearsal and went right back out to Flagstaff Ranch Golf Club.

Dan with the Groom

The venue was beautiful!

Next stop was the rehearsal dinner at the Taverna Greek Grill, this place was great. The food was delish and about every hour they would play greek music and the waitresses would race around the restaurant and break dishes "Opa!" while the bartenders were breathing fire!

They even ran Ty and Tori around and gave them a celebratory shot. We had a great time catching up with friends, especially Dan who was seeing some of his old college buddies for the first time in years.

I really love all of the boy's wives and girlfriend, we are so lucky!

The party continued through reverse happy hour and back in our hotel room where I had to be a trooper while the boys drank whiskey while Natalie snoozed away in the room next door (I considered joining her and leaving the boys to their nonsense!).

The day of the wedding the boys went to watch some college football, Natalie got a pedi and I checked on my mom who was busy working on the flowers for the wedding. She is a teacher but does wedding flowers on the side and does AMAZING work!

Natalie and I joined the boys for lunch then headed out to Flagstaff Ranch to help Tori set up centerpieces etc. She had asked me in advance if I would help her with the centerpieces and make sure everything was set up according to plan while she got ready and had photos taken. I recruited Natalie to help, thank goodness she came...I couldn't have done it without her! My mom and her friend Sue also pitched in when they came to deliver the flowers.

The centerpieces turned out great! My mom found this idea and Tori loved it! We tweaked it a little to meet their style but the best part was that Ty (the groom) cut down the tree himself and built each one. He added a branch for the table name and painted a veneer on each one to preserve the wood. There were over 20 centerpieces, I was so impressed! We added the candles, raffia and "woodland decor", if you will and Tori had made these awesome table cards. Each table was named for a place Ty and Tori had visited together and on one side was the name of the place and a story of their experience and on the other side was a picture. I love how personal they made it all!
Here comes the bride! It was finally time for the ceremony so we headed down to the driving range to get good seats (it helps when you know the ushers ;).

The ceremony, the weather, the venue, the couple...everything was PERFECT!

In true Ty and Tori fashion...it was time to party!

We had a great time dancing the night away (and checking the score of the ASU game, of course). They played a great game that we had seen before at our friends Joe and Natalie's wedding where each time people clink the glass for a kiss, the couple calls on another couple (guests) and have them perform a kiss. The bride and groom will then imitate the other couple's kiss. It was really cute and the couples got creative!

All in all it was a successful night! Ty and Tori got hitched and ASU beat USC for the first time in 11 years, GO DEVILS! Of course it was another late night celebrating but we were up the next morning for brunch with the Smiths and our drive home. We decided to take the scenic route and drive through Sedona since Joe and Nat hadn't been there before.

It was a fantastic weekend, we can't wait to get together with the newlyweds once they return from their honeymoon!

Eat, Drink and Be Married

Another one bites the dust! Today, Dan's best buddy Ty takes the plunge and joins the rest of us in wedded bliss. 3 down, 2 to go guys! Dan's group of guy friends from college are like our family. We love them so much and always have a blast together. Luckily all of the significant others get on beautifully as well. So whether it's a Saturday brunch at our place, beers and football at Zipp's or traveling across the country to attend the Smith wedding (no Johnst, don't tell me how much sodium is in your bloody mary on the airplane!) we are feeling the love!

Welcome to the club Ty and Tori!

I'm loving that tomorrow is my Friday. I'm taking Friday  off to start fall off right in Flagstaff celebrating the marriage of this sweet couple!
I'm loving that we are (fingers crossed) road tripping up to Flag with this sweet couple...

I'm loving that I have my sub plans finished, guest room ready and 2 cute dresses to wear this weekend (really takes a lot off my plate!)

I'm loving these Pinterest finds, duh.
I'm doing this to my hair for the wedding Saturday, I'll let you know how it works out!

Maybe I'll find some pine cones in Flagstaff and make this ;)

I'm loving Pete the Cat, my library copy is almost due back...I need to invest. Thank you blog world for introducing me! We've read, sung and written about Pete the Cat and still can't get enough!
What are you loving??

Loooong Weekend

The Sartis partied it up over the loooong weekend. Saturday morning was chores, laundry, library, errands and a little fall decorating...love it!
Saturday night we had some friends over to watch the Oregon game (and I completed my progress reports, lame!).

Sunday we were up and at 'em, ready to head to the Pointe Hilton at Squaw Peak to celebrate our anniversary courtesy of Mama and Papa Couv.

We were able to get an early check in and spent the afternoon at the pool, water slide and lazy river. They had live music and we enjoyed some refreshing beverages :) We even found a small, more secluded pool near our room where we swam some before we went to get ready for dinner. We ate at The Phoenix City Grill and it was delish. We took one picture...shame on me...and it's terrible quality, forgive!
Monday we got to the pool early enough to get great seats at the pool, on the upper deck near the lazy river where we spent most of the day. You almost didn't notice the heat!

It's been 2 years since the "I do's" and we're ready to keep partying it up in true Sarti fashion!

While we were gone my parents helped my brother move out of our 4th bedroom. He is now living with a buddy in Tempe, a much better set up for him, closer to work and friends. And then there were two...They did a great job cleaning up the house and his room, it's almost if he never lived here!
We're planning to move the guest room furniture up to this room since it's at the front of the house, more privacy for guests. The former guest room will remain empty, for now :/

It felt great to come home to a clean house! We were able to relax, rest, catch up on tv and order in Chinese and watch the Lincoln Lawyer. It was really good, we recommend :)

It was business as usual at school today but at least it's almost Wednesday! Dan is on "vacation" so hopefully he can pick up some flying to make some extra dough or at least tackle some projects around the house (ones that don't cost $$, like they exist!) Friday night is the next ASU game, it's a blackout where the team wears their new black uniforms and the fans die of heat exhaustion. Ahem, wear black too. We'll see how that goes!

Happy almost Wednesday everyone!
