Everyone is purging their rooms, storage etc. because 24 people are leaving our school and most who are staying are moving rooms, Bless. Their. Hearts. The hallway in front of the library is overflowing with books, manipulatives, posters, pocket charts and junk. All up for grabs!
I'm probably the only one not contributing to the pile, but scavenging through it :) And this is what I came up with (so excited!!)
Pocket chart heaven! I'm particularly excited about the apple and I plan to use it on my focus wall to list the name of the story of the week, genre, characters, sound, high frequency words etc. The last one is crayons (kinda blurry) but I'm a sucker for primary colors (shocking, I know!)
Kind of funky cardboard organizer, I have one that I use to sort the work for the week in and I couldn't live without it. Not sure how I'll use this but I'm thinking of turning it on it's side and using it for student books in the new student library I'm planning in my head.
This may be my favorite find by far...it almost looks shabby chic but really it's just splinters waiting to happen. I also plan to use this in the new student library I can't wait to set up!
We rarely have time for science but I thought these looked so fun and I WILL find time for them. The characters are for a velcro story board. Harcourt has 2 stories that these will be perfect to go along with!
Word Families! Apparently these are standard issue in the other classrooms but mine was lacking and I thought I had won the lottery finding these bad boys, in great condition...centers here we come!
I'm totally kicking myself for not taking a picture of the big books and amazing big book stand I found before school, also to be tenants of my new library (can you tell I'm excited about it?) I'll be looking for a small rug or carpet to put in the library. I'm also super happy to have big books again, at the beginning of this year my box of big books and posters and things that I had made and bought over the years "went missing". Either taken (gasp) or thrown out by the custodian (GASP). I'm still mourning the loss...these finds have almost made up for it I'm happy to report.
Tomorrow is the LAST. DAY. OF. SCHOOL. Kids will be there until 1:10 and we have until 4 to clean up, close up and check out. Sad that we have like zero time to get stuff done but whatareyougonnado?
Who is excited for summer!?
