It is no secret that we are OBSESSED with our dog Hannah. She is our dog baby and until we have a baby person, we will continue to obsess over her, sing her doggie songs (mostly me) and give her a bajillion nicknames.

Here she is "showing the paw".

Our dear darling doggie suffers from seizure disorder. We've spent countless hours and dollars at the vet to diagnose her "episodes". I think we are keeping Priority Pet Hospital in business in this economy. Luckily the seizures have been less frequent, last night was the first one since mid April. We were both home last night and spent an hour up with her after the seizure. It's really sad for "a mommy" and "a diddy" because we just love her so much! Hence the motivation for this post :)

I am so not a dog person. It took a lot of strongarming (is that a word?) on Dan's part to convince me to even get a dog, but once she came I fell in love. I tell her "never did I know I could love a doggie".

Hannah Sky Sarti was born on March 4, 2009. She is a White German Shepherd Dog, we got her when she was six weeks old. So tiny and sweet!

As she got older her ears started to stand up. Dan was afraid they wouldn't on their own but they finally did. Her ears are her best feature by far. She is so expressive with them, we can tell how she is feeling based on the position of her ears! Usually they are perked up, she puts them all the way down when she is sad or in trouble and part way down (like Yoda) when she is feeling insecure.

She is the nickname dog. We have so many nicknames for her, it is possible she does not know what her actual name is. We also cycle through the nicknames, coming up with new ones, bringing back old ones and creating variations of current nicknames. If you came over you would hear us call her

• Misses (as in Mrs. Tumnis, because she is a tummy dog (she lays on her back to show the tummy)
• Tummy, Tummy Dog, Shummy, Baby Shum
• Mitches (our niece used to say the /s/ sound as ch, so Misses became Mitches or Mitch for short)
• Littles, Little Skittle, Rittles
• Hanny, Li Hanny
• Mommies (because she's a Mom's dog, although we argue about this daily)

And many, many more that I'm slightly embarrased to admit ;)

You'll have to settle for some fun facts about the Misses...

• She cocks her head when you ask her a question
• She can say "I ruv rou"
• When she plays with other dogs she makes a Chewbaca noise
• She loves her chicken toys
• She is Hannarexic, she doesn't care about food at all
• She is the only dog who gets in trouble for NOT getting on the bed
• She is wonderful company for me when Dan is flying
• We love her to the moon and back!
