First day, hitting the beach
First night at our favorite outdoor bar, after sipping fruity drinks all day long we switched to vodka soda :)
Beautiful sunset before dinner at the Brazilian Barbecue.
Beach time! Because of recent storms, the beach was very shallow, there wasn't much sand between the resort and the ocean but we managed to find a good spot every day! The pools however, were crowded and we could rarely find a great seat. The ocean was much warmer than the pool so we preferred the beach :)
Dinner at the French Fusion restaurant.
You can see the storm rolling in behind us. It was crazy to see all of the preparation the hotel did for the hurricane; bringing in all chairs from the beach, taking down ceiling fans, blocking things off, it was a routine for them! They told us we'd have to stay inside the hotel so they ran movies in the theater, had board games you could check out and the whole hotel was packed into the inside bar. I think we spent something crazy like $11 on a deck of cards and played poker, black jack, go fish, you name it. The fruity drinks kept coming and we were content :) This was the day we were going to go on an outing; jungle tour, zip line, swim with the dolphins...I'm disappointed we didn't go but the hurricane blew through so quickly it didn't ruin the trip.

Staying inside during the hurricane.
We went back to the inside bar that night because it was still to cold and windy and the bartender was a little too attentive filling up my champagne glass...oops!
Our last night in Cancun, it was an awesome trip! I can't wait for another vacation like this.
For now I'll enjoy the rest of the week off of school, do some fall baking and hang with the hubs. Maybe we'll have Mexican food to commemorate our trip a year ago!
