We had an awesome time the entire weekend. Kate even made it in from Australia and educated us on how food can be "nice" and "what you've got on" doesn't mean which maxi dress are you wearing :) Alicia and her family are always incredibly generous and hospitable so naturally the wedding weekend was amazing.
We flew in and met up with her family for dinner and after some margatinis we went out with the cousins and started the festivities off right with shots and 2 for 1 cocktails. My, that did a number on me the next day! Not only was I up way past my bedtime, I'm used to nursing a glass of wine all night. The next morning, we went for coffee and nails then the girls got ready for the bridal tea. My aunt Michelle came and picked me up and we had a great day in Golden. Lunch at an adorable wine bar, shopping on the main strip and of course the "short tour" aka tasting room at the Coors Brewery!
That afternoon we enjoyed the beautiful weather on her porch and Kate came to join us for wine and pizza that night. We had to head out after dinner to pick up Ryan and Lisa at the airport and then we met up with the rest of the crew at the post rehearsal dinner get together. Again, up too late but we took it easy on the drinking because we were getting ready for the main event the next day! The girls were off early on the wedding day for primping, prep and photos so Kate and I leisurely shopped, relaxed and went out to lunch. Lisa and Ryan brought champagne over while we got dressed and then we were off to the beautiful golf course for the wedding.
Every detail was beautiful! Alicia looked stunning, the ceremony had a view of Pike's Peak where they got engaged and Tim nailed the kiss; one Cincinnati, two Cincinnati. The dinner was inside the clubhouse and delicious, while the ceremony space outdoors was transformed into the dance floor. I'm not gonna lie, we were a little skeptical of how they were going to pull it off and it turned out to be awesome! There was a bar, duh, and they brought in bistro tables, chairs and couches, curtains, lit a fire and had complimentary blankets. There was a photo booth with fun props, a great DJ and superfun crackhead videographer who almost stole the show if it weren't for Alicia's mom Kathie dancing Gangnam Style all night long! To top it all off, the cake was mini "Everything Bundt Cake" cakes and they also had Pinkberry frozen yogurt. Well done, my friend, well done! We all had an amazing time and although it wasn't always Merlot, the drinks were flowing. Congratulations to a wonderful couple, we love you!
