Outside of the house, he'll barely crack a smile but at home his grin and giggle could bring the house down. He loves to be chased and will start to run if you say "I'm gonna get you". Sometimes he'll change course and run straight at you and throw his arms around your neck, just so you can "get him". We call him Benny the snatcher because he loves to take things from Will, particularly his wubbanub. After a minute, he hands things back to Will and sometimes gives him a pat on the back.
He loves to growl like a lion, or tiger, or dog, or any animal really but we're working on all sounds, not just "roar". He tries to mimic words you say but can regularly be heard toddling around to "dadn, dadn, dadn" which is for Daddy and is both of the boys most used word. He tries "shoe, sock, fish, duck, book, uh oh, and ball." He prefers to sign and is always asking for milk, which is interchangeable with water, he also signs more, hurt, baby, bath, dog, and all done. The last time I was folding laundry he handed me a sock and I shower him how I pair the socks. Then I asked for another sock and he would sort through the pile to find another, I was pretty impressed! Most of the time however, he whines and points and I have to figure out what he wants by process of elimination. He usually wants his snack cup or my water cup because he loves to drink from straws. He also loves the cell phone and don't get this kid started with bubbles. They are both obsessed! We have to hide the bubbles otherwise they will stand at our feet and cry shaking the bubbles. Obsessed!
When I say it's time for "a night night" he walks towards the gate because he knows it is time to go to his room. He's just recently started giving kisses and he makes an "mmmm" noise when he leans in because I always say "muah". I can't get enough of this little guy!
He's a pretty good eater, when you are giving him something he likes including; bananas, scrambled eggs, pb&j, sweet potato and snacks. Benny loves snacks; cheddar bunnies, pretzel goldfish, veggie sticks, anything in the snack cup! If I have something in my hand, he comes over and "asks" for a bite, he'll even try to take it out of my mouth if he wants more.
Ben is a hugger. He loves to be held, preferably while you are standing up and he'll go to just about anyone as long as they're willing to hold and hold and hold him. He throws his arms around your neck and you feel like you've won the lottery. Benjamin is just so. darn. special. I love this little guy more than I knew I could love anything and I tell him that hundreds of times a day, accompanied by an equal amount of hugs, kisses and nibbles on the the earlobes. Yes, I may be a little crazy but I'm just so in love with this baby!
