We had a "Tiki Tiki" morning where the kids saw the reading goal wall for the first time and now they're convinced we're going to Hawaii. I was actually just planning on handing out lei's and wearing this dress...
So hopefully it will suffice :) I passed out reading goals, ranging from 20 words per minute all the way up to 90! The 1st grade goal is 40 but I like to give my kiddos goals they can beat so they don't get discouraged and make sure to do their "personal best".
Their goals are written on the different colored flowers, the center part punches out and they get to keep that part in their pencil pouch to remind themselves of their goal.
We also had a fun afternoon graphing colored Goldfish (on sale at Fry's for $1, I only needed 2 bags for my class).
We reviewed tally tables, bar graphs and patterns/pattern units. NWEA (State testing) in 2 weeks!
(This picture just won't rotate)
Now it's time to focus on the next big thing...here we go! Stay tuned for good/not so good news, fun with company and hopefully Flat Stanley :)
You are such an amazing teacher! <3 <3 <3
