Spring break is half over, waaaah! I've been doing a whole lot of nothing and it's been ah mazing. Over the weekend I did some shopping with my sis in law/bff Sheila and her kiddos. We were very successful at Costco where I made two purchases that changed. my. life. First up we have Famous Dave's Signature Spicy Pickle Chips, yes I am eating them right now and yes the jar is half empty.
Next is a treasure I almost missed out on thanks to the salad sample nazi. His station was obvs the most popular in Costco on a Saturday but that is no excuse for almost cutting a lady's hand off as she reached for a sample. He yelled at her saying "if you touch this, I have to throw all of these samples away. I am licensed to do this!" Ooookaaaay, he wanted her to wait until he had filled his tray before she started getting grabby. At this point I walked away only to be lured back when said tray made it to the "safe" zone and I grabbed two and hightailed it out of there. Turns out the salads are DELISH and I went back to get a two pack for each of us. You must go buy some for yourself, NOW. It is a spinach salad with a dijon dressing, shredded cheese, hard boiled egg, cranberries and almonds and some wonton type crispies. To die for!
Other than eating salad and pickles for the past five days, my mom came to visit and helped us organize the sewing room and repot some plants (exciting, I know) and hang pictures in the guest and dining room. We also took nephew Nicholas to the park, Dan planted some flowers in the backyard and m'doggie and I did a lot of relaxing on the couch.
It is a wonder that I have accomplished anything...enough said.
And if you haven't read it yet, go buy the whole series (you will thank me later) and a jar of pickles and you'll be set for a week. Trust.
Tomorrow I'll be meeting up with my sweet friend Lauren to see her new place and do some planning for summer school. I know I swore I'd never teach summer school again but life doesn't always go according to plan as we have learned so I'm going to make the best of it. This year I'm teaching one block of First Grade Jumpstart and that should be much better than last year. Lauren is teaching the same class so we're going to plan together aka talk each others faces off.
Friday is Mama's birthday so we'll head up to Prescott to celebrate with a dinner out. I'm sure I'll manage to fit plenty of reading and salad eating in between our plans. I hope your spring break is as relaxing as mine has been so far! If you don't have a spring break, don't worry...I'll be holding down the couch for you!
