The Twins Are 10 Months
The twins turned 10 months on August 14, and this month seemed to go by quickly. Mostly because August was a busy month for us, especially with my surgery to remove my tumor and parotid gland. We were very lucky to have a lot of help during my recovery. My parents stayed with the boys while I was in the hospital and poor babies both had their first bout with diarrhea. I guess there were blowouts around the clock, poor everyone involved! Dan had some time off of work and then my aunt and cousin came out to help. That was awesome because it gave me time to rest but we also had a blast of a visit! We ate delicious meals, tried new recipes and hit up the Carter's Labor Day sale to stock the babies up for winter.
The twins are busy crawling, pulling themselves up to stand and cruising furniture. They love to play "catch" and roll the ball back and forth. They like to be read to, especially "Brown Bear, Brown Bear". Ben doesn't love being in the stroller, he'd much prefer to ride in a cart or be carried so he can scope everything out. Both boys have a fair amount of separation anxiety from me (imagine that) and cry when I leave the room :( It makes me sad and it also makes it tough to get things done around the house!
We had our first play date with our baby friends Holden and Kate, who are both a couple of weeks younger than the boys. Hopefully this will be the first of many, as long as I can make the effort to get out and about!
Ben and Will started wearing "big boy" jammies and they look so grown up! We still wear footies if I'm behind on laundry and will probably keep them in the rotation especially during winter. Not that it gets very cold here but I don't like to use the heat in the house very much! The jammies are 12 month size although they are both still in 9 month sleepers. I don't think their weight has changed much since their nine month appt, maybe a pound up so 18.5 for Ben and 20.5 for Will.
They have 3, 7 ounce bottles a day 6:30, 12:00 and 7:45. They are eating good meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have snacks throughout the day. They are also getting really good with sippy cups and Ben learned how to drink out of a straw! I was holding him and drinking from one of my straw cups and he put his mouth on and began to suck! Will hasn't figured it out yet but we're in no rush :) Will got his leg stuck in the crib so I had to put the bumpers in this month and Ben popped his top two teeth. Their favorite activity is to push the chairs and high chairs around the kitchen so I'm constantly moving furniture back but I don't mind!
Dan and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary and decided to bring the boys out to dinner with us. We went to a pizza place (nice and family friendly) and had yummy pizza and dessert. The boys were SO well behaved, I was definitely a proud mama. We had a nice time celebrating as a family!
It's hard to believe they will be one soon, time please slow down! Like I've said before, the days are long but the years are short! Love you boys!!!
