Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart

This Christmas will be different from years past, we are staying home and having my family come down from Prescott. This is mostly due to the fact that Dan flies up until Christmas Eve and the Sarti family Christmas is being held at his sister's house a mere mile away from here. This way we'll get to see both families and get the most time together. We sure will miss Christmas in Prescott and some of our traditions but we'll give this a try this year!

Last year we celebrated "ThanksChristmas" in the White Mountains (Greer, AZ) with the Sartis about two weeks before Christmas. We stayed in a cabin that had been converted from a bed and breakfast so there was plenty of room for everyone and we each had our own room with private bath and fire place!
We had a big dinner, kids gift exchange, traditional White Elephant game and Sadie, her mom and Jeff played Christmas music for us. It was a great trip until half of us got the flu the next day...whatareyougonnado?
Dan's twin Sheila took our Christmas card photo :) We didn't get one put together this year (so don't feel left out if you didn't get one!)

We also celebrated Christmas early at our house with my brother before he left for Portland to be with then girlfriend Clare. We made a prime rib and did a gift exchange. We did something similar the year before with Clare before she went home for Christmas.

 Pre-Christmas Christmas 2009

First Christmas married, 2009
On Christmas Eve we celebrate the anniversary of our engagment, awwww. We are in Prescott by this time and we have dinner with my parents and go to Christmas Eve service at the church where we were married. We will be very sad to miss this year :( After church we walk to the Hassayampa Inn where we had our reception and partake in "sacrament" wink, wink.
Before church at my parent's house.

And if we're lucky, Christmas day sledding!
Christmas afternoon/evening we go to Dan's mom's house and celebrate with the Sarti clan. Lots of gifts and children!

There you have it...past Christmas traditions! This year will be different so we'll see what it brings for us...maybe a Christmas miracle!
