Christmas in in 5 days and I'm set for shopping because we aren't doing gifts! We decided to stuff each other's stockings this year (that's what she said) and enjoy important family time instead of giving or getting gifts. Those resources are currently needed elsewhere, whatareyougonnado? I'm looking forward to upping the stocking ante and getting creative with it.
We'll have my family here starting Friday and will spend Christmas afternoon/evening with Dan's at his sister's house. We're not particularly excited to spend Christams in the valley (although it probably wouldn't snow in Prescott anyway, wishful thinking) but as long as we get quality family time we're in. It will also be more convenient since Dan is flying up until Christmas Eve. This will be his second Christmas off in a row! We are very lucky :) We're also very lucky to be surrounded by great family and friends.
Here's what we have been up to for the past month or so...album on Facey appropriately titled "The Holidays" since the holiday season actually does kick off with my birthday officially.
We had a great time celebrating my birthday with my friends from school and their hubbies/bfs and my mama at The Keg in Gilbert, yum!
The next weekend we had a reunion of all of our college friends. It had been a year and a half since we were all together and we had a fun filled weekend. Friday night some of us had dinner at my house and relaxed and caught up. Saturday was the ASU vs. Arizona football game and we all blacked it out :)
Baby Aubrey came to represent!
Sunday was Meg's Cookies and Milk themed baby shower put on by her sister; Miss Tickled Pink Mandy and best friend Sarah. They really went all out..
Someone should pin this...seriously ;)
It was a beautiful shower and great reunion weekend with the girls!
We were able to go to Prescott for Thanksgiving and celebrate with both of our families. My mother in law invited my parents to her house since it was our year with the Sartis and that was so nice, I did not want them to be alone on Thanskgiving. Every holiday we try to split time so everyone is happy but we find it to be a struggle, how do you deal with multiple families/gatherings at the holidays? We also had a Couvreur family Thanksgiving on Saturday, my mom couldn't go a year without cooking a turkey!

December arrived and we've been trying to stay above water; we decorated the house and tree, I made it through the First grade "Moosical" and two weeks of school and we had another getaway up in Prescott to soak up some seriously needed family time.
The beauty of the self timer.
Aaand last but not least, baby Gia (slightly obsessed) and I at the Acker Music Festival in Prescott. Maybe next year we'll have a baby to bundle up and bring along :)So there you have it, I couldn't let all of this fun go undocumented even though I've been living under a rock. We'll see if I'm inspired during my time off to write anything interesting or entertainig...I certainly can't compete with the 12 days of Christmas or the fancy pants gift/shopping lists but I'll live vicariously through the lovely blogging beauties out there!

Hope you are enjoying you break girl! Get lots of rest and enjoy your family!! :) Merry Christmas!
