BOYS!
Today was our 18 week ultrasound (we go every two weeks due to the twinnies) and although the anatomy scan isn't until 20 weeks, the sweet sonographer offered to look for us. We agreed that we'd like to find out in the room, so she could actually point out the genders to us. Dan took a video of that part and it's so funny to watch it and hear our reactions. We were pretty convinced that they were girls and we were holding out hope for one of each. Before we left for the appointment, Dan commented that we hadn't really considered it being two boys...who knew he'd be right!
The sonographer checked baby A first, the heartbeat was 142bpm and she showed us between the legs and said "do you see that?" One down, one to go! She checked baby B's heart rate and it was 165bpm. I immediately said "well then it's a girl!" She scanned over and froze the screen and Dan said "Boy!" and I said "Shut up! Wow! Oh my!" We were shocked! It was amazing to be completely caught off guard like that and we just laughed for the rest of the ultrasound.
While we were waiting for the doctor we kept talking about how great it's going to be to have boys, it's amazing that they're the same gender, how they can have bunk beds and we don't have to pay for any weddings :) I'm going to be outnumbered, that's for sure! Now we just have to agree on two boy names...which will be a challenge I'm sure but then we'll know that we LOVE the names we choose.
I'm so excited to start shopping! Team BLUE!
